  • When Should I Start Elimination Communication?
You can start elimination communication from birth, when timing and newborn reflexes make assisting easiest. It is never too late after six or twelve months — you simply begin at a later stage and help baby shift association from nappy to potty.
Pregnancy is a great prep window — learn holds and cues before baby arrives. See EC with a newborn.
Starting solids (around sitting) is another strong window — many poops land in the pot. Young toddlers can still succeed with consistency; see EC for toddlers.
Part-time start is valid if you’re busy: part-time EC.
